Confirm the wiring of your house
TREATLIFE products require:
Ground wire
-A ground wire connects to a switch to safely carry additional electrical current away from the switch box to prevent dangerous electrical buildup or shock.
-Ground wires are typically green or bare copper.
If your house was built or remodeled after 2011, the National Electric Code (NEC) requires ground wires.
-If your house was built or remodeled in the mid-80's, it may have a grounding wire.
-Important: Some houses may not have a ground wire available in every switch box.
Neutral wire
-A neutral wire completes the circuit provided by the Line wire. The light switch can be powered even when the light is off. (The neutral line cannot control the light.)
-Neutral wires are typically white and may be found bundled inside the back of the switch box.
-If your house was built or remodeled after 2011, the National Electric Code (NEC) requires neutral wires.
-If your house was built or remodeled in the mid-80's, it may have a grounding wire.
-Important: Some houses may not have a neutral wire available in every switch box.
120V circuit
This is standard in U.S. residential houses.
